You’d be hard-pressed to find someone who believes more in the future of IDEA than Managing Director Caesar Vielmas.
Caesar started with IDEA in 1998 as a project manager, and by 2001, he was handling the agency’s largest account, growing it steadily despite the quick boom and bust of the dot coms. Under Caesar’s guidance, what started out as a $100k+ account grew into an over $4m marquis account for the agency in only three years.
As Account Director, Caesar and his team were vital in streamlining the merger between the agency’s largest client and a technology giant. IDEA kept the client, and Caesar facilitated the subsequent phase out of the old brand and the establishment and rollout of the new brand.
As VP of Client Services, Caesar expanded the agency into Seattle to better serve a client who wanted a local agency presence. Instead of simply creating a satellite office with a skeleton crew, Caesar built a diverse team that is tightly integrated with the Houston office.
Now in his leadership position as Managing Director, Caesar plans to take IDEA in a new direction with new vision and new goals for the agency. And he has plenty of them.
He is steering the agency towards a more diversified portfolio of clients and has added major accounts in healthcare, manufacturing and the financial sector. In fact, the agency is on track to grow by over 20% in 2009. By keeping things innovative — trying new business models, remaining transparent, staying relevant — Caesar plans to maintain IDEA’s position as an interactive leader, because, Caesar says, “With a name like ours, you have a lot to live up to.”
Even though Caesar’s bent on growing the business and doing whatever it takes to stay profitable, he makes sure that everyone at IDEA understands the idea of a work/life balance. That’s why, when he’s not in the office, you’ll probably find Caesar on the track racing sports cars or learning how to play guitar with his daughter.
Caesar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Houston. He is active in the advertising community in Houston with memberships in the Houston Advertising Federation, the Houston Interactive Marketing Association and the Greater Houston Partnership. Caesar was recently featured in the Web Analytics Association’s New Media Podcast Series and on a panel for the Houston Interactive Marketing Association’s growth in interactive segment.
